“Not minding” being embarrassed must be the most important skill there is for learning a language! I’ve learned (still learning) Welsh as an adult and recently had the most baffling conversation with another learner where we were talking at complete cross purposes about soe craft work I was doing for a good 10 minutes, both of us convinced it was our understanding or diction that was at fault. (It was me mishearing werth as wers” was the problem “Werthu” is ‘to sell’ “gwers” is ‘lesson’ and I was convinced she was asking if if did lessons when what she actually wanted to know was if I sold it!)
Thanks Leia, this made me feel a little bit better about my learning process. I still find it embarrassing and I think that has more to do with the fact that I am learning on my own instead of with other people so I don’t have the opportunity to speak to others as much. I am still working hard to get better!
Lou Lou Who~ "I'm glad he took our presents. You can't hurt Christmas, Mr. Mayor, beacuse it isn't about the... the gifts or the contest or the fancy lights. That's what Cindy's been trying to tell everyone... and me. I don't need anything more for Christmas than this right here: my family."
